This is a fence company that pretends to also do decks. I waited a year to leave a review because I was afraid my emotions were running high after my customer experience. Now, one year later, and I feel even more disappointment and frustration than I did the day I handed over the second check for $9,000. Basic skills like measuring, cutting, and screwing are lacking. Every 4x4 post wobbled and I had to crawl underneath to attach with longer screws (they used the same screws as they did for the deck board), some boards don’t even fit from post to post and you can see the screws striving to hold the railing together. One of the giant 6x6 beams for my pergola (which I asked them to leave the wood and I would finish) was severely twisted. When I called them out on it they assured me it was “level but not straight” and didn’t do anything about it. The handrail was just a 2x4 attached to the railing and at final walk through I asked if they were going to install one of those molded handrails that they sell at the local box store. He told me “it’s against code” so naturally I asked the inspector the following week and lo and behold it’s NOT against code! The gaps around the posts, the unevenness of the top rail… I wanted to put small strands of LED lights under the lip of the stairs but I can’t because some have a nice lip but some don’t hang over at all. Some of the skirting is crooked and thy didn’t even do that one clean cut on the outside of the deck boards to make the whole thing even so some boards stick out and some go in. It’s really disappointing to see what they mean by “rough construction”. It was more disappointing to have them look me in the eyes, take my money, and tell me how proud they were of the work they performed. Edit: No response from the owner on this review also should tell you a lot. 2 Edit: the owner responded and as usual per my experience, always has an excuse (I didn’t seal the deck in time). The reason I couldn’t seal the deck the year they built it was because I wouldn’t allow them to finish. They left the wood and I built the pergola myself! And as for the warping being caused by me not sealing it, I will add a photo of your crew all pulling on a board to make it “fit”. When I looked at one of the 6x6 posts that was very twisted he told me it was “level but not straight” and as long as it was level…. Also I wasn’t exaggerating when I said basic skill were lacking. I watched as one of the crew couldn’t find the joist to screw the floor boards into so he was literally taking a screw and scratching a line so he could follow where it might be. It was only after I showed him how a square would work without making the scratches that the foreman took him off screw duty and he hauled lumber the rest of the day Don’t get me wrong, the fence team was great. But the deck side is not ready for the public. I also never got to thank the owner for their personal apology that their secretary passed along to me over the phone 😂

Northeast Ohio Fence is a fantastic company and we just love the finished product! They promptly came out and estimated the job, set the schedule and built and installed our new fence very quickly. The arrived one day and installed the posts and then came back a week later and the finished fence went up. They were fast, affordable and very friendly! Nick, Marvin and Roger were a great team! True professionals that delivered! Thank you for our beautiful fence! We love it!!

We had a really great experience with NEO Fence. Brian came out for a free quote within the week, and then the fence was constructed about 4-5 weeks after. Communication was great throughout the process, especially with Heather, and the workers were professional and efficient building the fence (2 day process for us). The project was more affordable than the three other companies we reached out to. We are very happy with the results and highly recommend if you are looking to install a fence!
