In the spring of 2024 my wife and I were in search of a fence company. We were interested in a fence that encompassed our backyard and side yard, with a divider fence and multiple gates. Our main goal was to keep our dog in the yard and have something that looks great. We were envisioning a post and rail fence with 4 rails that has a farmhouse look that fits within our budget. We called multiple fence companies to get multiple quotes and most companies either did not know what type of fence we wanted or were way out of budget. Mike, owner of Great Lakes Fence Company, was actually my first call and although I called other companies, I alway thought back to that first call. Mike answered his phone on my initial call, he knew what fence type we were interested in, and offered to come out to the property and put together a quote for us. He was not pushy nor was he trying sell us something we didn’t need. When Mike arrived we walked the property, he took measurements and noted how many gates and where they were located. We requested a unique divider fence that separated our back from side yard so we can divide the yard up. After that site visit Mike left us with confidence in his work and we anticipated his quote. A few days later Mike emailed us an estimate and visually layout of the fence and image of what the fence would look like. We were impressed with the documentation that he provided to us, something no other company did, and the price for furnishing and installing the fence was within our budgeted amount. We reached out to Mike with some additional questions like: Who installs the fence? What options do we have as fence material? Do you concrete the posts into the ground? Do we need to secure a permit? All of these question, among others, were answered promptly by Mike and to our satisfaction. To our surprise, Mike and his worker were to install the fence and offered additional options of wood species. The process thus far gave us great confidence that Mike was the right guy for our job. We secured Great Lakes Fence Company to install our fence and we were placed on their schedule. Mike and his workers arrived on day one with the material for our fence and they got right to work. About A week later the fence was complete. I cannot overstate how pleased we were with Mike and his team’s work. They were punctual, kind, understanding, and extremely hard workers. Mostly, they were normal guys providing an excellent product. I would highly recommend Great Lakes Fence Company for any fence project, not because the product is amazing, but because Mike stands by his work and has great respect for his customs. Frank did a wonderful job! Fence was done in 2 days - maybe a total of 5 hours! Quick and easy! Dogs are VERY happy (neighbors are too)!
